Position Title: ICT Engineer

The ICRC is a neutral, impartial, and independent organization. Its exclusive humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC endeavors to alleviate suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

Main Responsibilities:

Functional Responsibilities:

• Manage a good level of Local Area Network, Core infrastructure and Servers set up in offices and around the country.
• Ensure an excellent level of LAN/WLAN technology and setup with Afghanistan WAN solution for its stability, reliability, and availability.
• Assist and Work with ICT Managers in AoR to maintain a minimum level of ICT Support and Services.
• Collaborate with ICT Manager in AoR to submit the periodical technical plan and manage technical visits for each structure in AoR.
• Work with ICT Specialist, ICT Workplace, and other ICT Engineer of technical projects and implementation.
• Visit each structure in the country to review and plan possible adaptions.
• Generates and submits weekly technical situation reports.
• Assist ICRC institutional and country implementation projects in different offices.
• Attend technical discussions, progress/situation review, and biweekly ICT Technical Coordination
• Build and maintain good relationships with external ICT Companies, Suppliers, and Service providers.
• Manage the minimum level of ICT Material stock for AoR and periodic ICT hardware renewal according to hardware lifecycle and problem mitigations.
• Report to ICT Coordinator for Afghanistan.

• The candidate has a post-graduate degree in Information Technology, telecommunications, or related technical background.
• An excellent command of English, depending on work location; other languages as an asset.
• Experience at four to six years minimum of troubleshooting experience in the area of ICT Service catalog (e.g., Servers, Workplace services, Telecommunications, Networks, and related fields).
• The Engineer position focused on Local and Wireless Area Network technology.
• Currently works or had previous experience working as ICT Engineer or position responsible for a region-wide ICT technical or system operation.
• Excellent ICT Knowledge and good team player.
• An excellent communication skill includes feedback giving/receiving and reporting.
• An excellent analytical skill, troubleshooting, and provide a solution.
• Good level in competencies: Leadership, Accountability, People Management, Teamwork & Collaboration, Representing ICRC (external relation) and Beneficiary & Client focus (people-centric).
• Proficient in Component integration, functional Support, Problem Management (ICT), and Information Security Management.
